Stroud Township Drowning

An elderly man who was fishing over the weekend, died in Monroe County. 81 year old Howard Cohen of Philadelphia, slipped and fell in Paradise Creek in Stroud Township, Saturday morning around 9:30. His body was found later downstream and police say his death appears to be an accidental drowning.

Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. John Fetterman has been released from the hospital. The 52 year old Fetterman had been at Lancaster General Hospital since May 13th, after suffering a stroke.

The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission is considering raising the cost of a fishing license and a trout stamp each by $2.50. If adopted, it would be the first license increase in 17 years.

If you think gas prices are high now, AAA says “wait until this summer.” On Friday, the average price for a gallon of regular in Pennsylvania was $4.77. Some experts now say it could hit a national average of $6.20 by August.

Some chicken that was sold in New Jersey, New York, Delaware, and here in Pennsylvania is being recalled. The USDA says deli containers of General Tso’s Chickent that were sold in Weiss markets may contain milk which is not declared on the store’s finished product label.

Harley-Davidson has suspended production at its factory in Pennsylvania. The company says it’s temporarily halting all vehicle production and shipments at the plant in York County due to a supply chain-related matter. It’s still unclear how many employees will be impacted and for how long.

A typical home in Monroe County listed for $339,000 in April according to the most recent data released by www.realtor.com. That’s up 4% from a month earlier. Statewide in Pennsylvania, median home prices were up 2.9% from March, and they are up 5% from a month earlier nationwide.
