14 Arrested in Monroe Checkpoint

Pennsylvania State Police arrested 14 people between September 2 and September 5 at a sobriety checkpoint in Monroe County. 11 of the arrests were for driving under the influence, two were for possession of a controlled substance, and one person was nabbed on a felony arrest warrant.

Weekend Rain Does Little to Relieve Drought

Despite two days of heavy rains, most of Northeast, Pennsylvania is still under a drought watch. The watch includes all of the Poconos. The situation will not change until at least next Tuesday, September 13th, when the Commonwealth’s Drought Task Force holds their next meeting.
