Monroe Food Pantries Benefit From Car Wash

A carwash over the weekend in Stroudsburg raised money for local food pantries. It took place in the parking lot at ShopRite of Stroudsburg, and all proceeds went toward the hunger-fighting initiative, Partners in Caring. The program runs all this month, collecting money to go to local food pantries in Monroe County.

Not guilty on all charges… that was the verdict Friday for a Monroe County man in a case involving the castle doctrine. Randy Halterman was facing charges including homicide, aggravated assault, and attempted homicide after he shot two intruders inside his home last year, killing one of them.

Friday marked the first festival at the new Poconos Park, and it brought thousands of people to the area. The newly renovated, multi-purpose event center: Poconos Park has re-developed the former Mountain Laurel Performing Arts Center, which was once touted as a crown jewel for the Poconos, but closed nearly a decade ago.
