PennDOT to Open Centers for Real ID Services on May 19

PennDOT will open 15 centers across Pennsylvania on Monday, May 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. for REAL ID services only. Officials say the centers can issue REAL IDs on the spot. Nearly 60,000 people have already received one during these events.

UGI says natural gas rates will stay the same through June, but a small hike is expected December 1. If approved, the average residential customer would see a 1.1% increase, about $1.22 more per month. Commercial and industrial customers could also see slight bumps.

A new Pennsylvania law aimed at reducing distracted driving will take effect June 5th. Under Paul Miller’s Law, drivers caught holding a mobile phone while behind the wheel—including at stop signs or red lights—can be pulled over. The only allowed phone use is when the vehicle is fully stopped and parked.
