It was 50 years ago today when Hurricane Agnes ravaged much of the northeast. While rain was predicted by the National Weather Service that week, no one was prepared for the devastating flooding in which Pennsylvania sustained $2 billion in damage, and 50 state residents lost their lives in the floods.
