A man was arrested for attacking a police K9 while officers attempted to arrest him. Pocono Mountain Regional Police say 32-year-old Matthew Katona of East Stroudsburg was inside a house in Tobyhanna, and he had an active felony warrant out for his arrest. After he refused officers commands, a police K9 was let in, and Katona immediately began to hit, choke, and try to smother the dog. He was taken into custody. The officers and the dog are ok. Karona faces charges including assault of a police animal and resisting arrest.
