Monroe County firefighters battled a blaze in Middle Smithfield Township yesterday. Crews responded to a call Tuesday around 3PM on Green Mountain Drive, where the fire reportedly started in a home’s garage. Everyone inside got out safely, and the Red Cross is assisting those affected. Marshalls Creek Volunteer Fire Department officials say they believe the fire involved hoarder conditions, but the exact cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
