A recent surge in solar activity has brought stunning displays of the Northern Lights farther south than usual. This past week, people in Germany, the UK, New England, and even here in Northeastern PA reported sightings of the vibrant auroras, featuring pinks, purples, greens, and blues. This year has been exceptional for aurora watchers, with reports reaching as far south as New Mexico.
