Stroud Mall Fire Remains Under Investigation

An investigation is ongoing after a Christmas tree caught fire at the Stroud Mall in Stroudsburg on Saturday night, injuring two people. Police say the fire, which started near the food court, led to heavy smoke and caused two people to be hospitalized for breathing difficulties. The fire appears to have started with an artificial tree in the EFO Furniture wing. Police are looking into reports that several teenagers were near the tree before the fire began. The State Fire Marshal is assisting with the investigation.
