Pennsylvania State Police reported a rise in DUI and crash numbers over the Thanksgiving weekend. Between November 27 and December 1, troopers responded to 1,075 traffic incidents, nearly 100 more than last year. Seven crashes were fatal, including one involving alcohol. Alcohol was a factor in 64 crashes overall. Authorities also made 552 DUI arrests, up from 542 in 2023, and issued nearly 8,000 speeding tickets along with over 1,000 seat belt citations.
