Carbon County Deer Tests Positive For Chronic Wasting Disease

A dead deer in Carbon County has tested positive for Chronic Wasting Disease, marking the first case in that area. The emaciated male deer was found in Packer Township, more than 10 miles from previous CWD detections. This follows similar cases in Luzerne County. The Pennsylvania Game Commission urges against feeding deer, as CWD spreads through direct contact and contaminated environments.
