A payment dispute between a DJ and the victim led to a fatal shooting in Long Pond on January 12. Police say Jesus Sosa, who DJed the victim’s birthday party, returned later that night with family members, including his brother Oswaldo Sosa, where a confrontation escalated, resulting in the death of 22-year-old Lionardo Zarata. Homicide charges have been filed against Oswaldo and Oscar Sosa, and Josthin Perez.
