Spraying for Spongy Moths and Fall Cankerworms Begins Across Pennsylvania

For the first time in 29 years, Pennsylvania’s Department of Conservation and Natural Resources will spray for both spongy moths and fall cankerworms. The effort targets nearly 75,000 acres to combat spongy moths, with additional spraying for fall cankerworms. This marks the first cankerworm spraying in nearly three decades. Spraying will use aircraft to apply insecticides.
