The former Mountain Laurel center in Poconos was built back in 2003 with $15 million in taxpayer money and then struggled to stay open. Now, it is preparing to reopen after sitting empty and abandoned for years. The renewed venue will be known as Poconos Park. The new owner says they plan to host different types of events and artists, all in an effort get more people back in the long empty seats. The first show will be in September.
