Drop Boxes Dropped By Senate

On Wednesday, the Pennsylvania State Senate voted to ban unsecured ballot drop boxes. The senate also voted to ban the private funding of election operations. Senate Bill 1200 would require mail-in ballots that are not returned in the mail to be returned only to the County Board of Elections office. The change comes about after drop boxes were permitted by a Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruling in 2020, but were never authorized by the General Assembly.
