Starting June 5, Pennsylvania drivers will no longer be allowed to hold phones or other devices while behind the wheel. The new hands-free law makes it illegal to touch a phone while driving—calls and GPS must be hands-free. Drivers get warnings for the first year. Fines begin in June 2026. Emergency calls are still allowed.
