50 Years Since Agnes

It was 50 years ago today when Hurricane Agnes ravaged much of the northeast. While rain was predicted by the National Weather Service that week, no one was prepared for the devastating flooding in which Pennsylvania sustained $2 billion in damage, and 50 state residents lost their lives in the floods.

The 28th annual Delaware River Sojourn is now underway, and on Tuesday, more than 100 people paddled through the Delaware Water Gap… part of a seven to eight-day river trip that began in the Pocono Mountains and travels to paddling and camping locations downriver.
