PA Lawmakers Consider Open Primaries

Pennsylvania remains one of about a dozen states that have closed primaries, meaning voters must be a registered Democrat or Republican to vote. The House State Government Committee yesterday, heard testimony on a bill that would open Pennsylvania primaries to more than one million Independent voters.

Vehicle Catches Fire on Interboro Bridge

An SUV caught fire and burned on the Interboro bridge between Stroudsburg and East Stroudsburg on Monday. Police say it happened when the vehicle became engulfed in flames near the Mesko Glass building in East Stroudsburg. Firefighters were able to quickly contain a fuel leak that was headed for the Brodhead Creek. Nobody was hurt.

Arrest Made After Tannersville Shooting

An arrest has been made in connection with a Monroe County basketball court shooting.
