Bridge Tolling Now Off the Table

With tolling no longer a viable option for paying for nine interstate bridge replacements or rehabilitation of those bridges here in Pennsylvania, the Senate Transportation Committee met on Wednesday to begin exploring other ways to fund the work that is now estimated to cost $3 billion.

Senior citizens and individuals with permanent disabilities who qualify for the state’s Property Tax and Rent Rebate program can now begin looking for their one-time bonus payments to arrive. Payments to eligible applicants who are set up to receive their rebates via direct deposit began Tuesday. Paper checks will be mailed starting Friday.
