10-Year Anniversary Of Deadly Pike County Shooting

Believe it or not, it was ten years ago today, September 12, 2014, when a deadly sniper attack took place on two State Police officers in Pike County. Cpl. Bryon Dickson II was killed and Trooper Alex Douglass was critically injured outside the Blooming Grove barracks. The suspect, Eric Frein, led authorities on a 48-day manhunt through the Poconos. Frien was sentenced to death by lethal injection. He’s currently being held at SCI Somerset, a medium security prison here in Pennsylvania.
