Diocese Of Scranton Shuts Down One Of The Area’s Oldest Catholic Churches Amid Dwindling Attendance

One of the oldest Catholic churches in the Diocese of Scranton will close its doors forever this summer after more than a century of service. The Diocese of Scranton announced the closure of Nativity of Our Lord Church in Scranton, citing dwindling attendance and shifting pastoral needs. The church’s operations will move to Sacred Hearts of Jesus & Mary Church. The final mass is scheduled for June 8.
