Bishop Timlin Dies On Easter Sunday

The eighth Bishop of Scranton passed away on Easter Sunday. Bishop James C. Timlin died peacefully in his sleep yesterday. Bishop Timlin was 95 years old.

Offer Submitted For Camp Trexler

Pocono Heritage Land Trust has submitted a bid to buy the 775-acre Camp Trexler in Kunkletown. They say they have also entered into a partnership with the Where Angels Play foundation to split the property, which will mean part of it will be open to the public as a nature preserve.

Dead Man Discovered In Tree

A Pennsylvania man was found dead in a tree over the weekend. It happened in Lancaster County on Saturday afternoon. Emergency responders say it appears the 39 year old man was trimming branches in the tree when one of the branches contacted a power line and he was electrocuted. Nobody else was hurt.

New License Plate Offering

PennDOT is introducing a new license plate. Last week, PennDOT said you can now purchase a “Pollinator” license plate. Sixty-five percent of the proceeds from the license plate will be deposited into the Pollinator Habitat Program Fund… dedicated to supporting ongoing efforts to reinvigorate the populations of insects which pollinate plant life.

Road Rage!

It’s being referred to as a possible case of road rage in Northampton County. On Saturday night, police got a report of a fight outside a shopping center in Pen Argyl in which an older man reportedly was assaulted. Suspects have been identified. Police now say they are just waiting on surveillance video for confirmation.
